The cooperative TANZKOOP was founded in 2022 to stabilize the production and work structures of the independent dance scene in Braunschweig and Lower Saxony in the long term. Thanks to the funding program TANZPAKT RECONNECT, the co-financing by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony, the Department of Culture and Science of the City of Braunschweig, a variety of offers for the independent dance scene were initiated:

In the center of Braunschweig is the high-quality equipped TANZKOOP studio with 80sqm dance and sprung floor, mirror walls and sound system as well as warm-up areas and lounges. It offers the entire independent dance scene a free working space for research, rehearsal and production phases since its opening in April 2022. Intensive workshops with top-class international guest lecturers and artist residencies with work-in-progress shows will take place there. Through the interactive TANZKOOP website, the Instagram channel @tanzkoop and the regular dance newsletter, an information and communication platform has been created that provides cross-regional networking and bundles expert knowledge (e.g. performances, calls for proposals or funding information).
